Project India and Indonesia
Lighting a Home
In Spring of 2013 we are planning to go into Indonesia and need your donations to empower us to have the tools, equipment, and material to light up as many homes as possible. Homes in 3rd world poor communities have one to two rooms per house. Some have three to four rooms and we will supply them a newer but simple way to provide lighting.
We use a 1 liter bottle with clear sides, use purified water with 2 oz of Clorox. The Clorox prevents the water from becoming green with algae. The sun shines on the part of bottle that remains on the top of the roof, refracts the lighting throughout the entire bottle of water creating enough energy to provide up to 55 watts of lighting to the room.
The room may have one small window that is about 2 ft X 2 ft or a little bigger and this new lighting gives them lighting in their room that they have never seen. They will smile and laugh and thank us and you over and over.
Others in the more affluent areas, will save much needed money as most of them will earn less than $80.00 a month in income and this will cut down on their electric expense.
We need you to start with your donation gifts as soon as possible. We need a number of cordless drill motors, one to six small generators to recharge batteries, hammers, steel cutting chisels, marking pens, interpreters, team leaders, team members, and the cost for travel and accommodations to travel 10,000 miles by air, boat, and over land that has no roads.
Above is a Donation Button or go to our Contact Page for sending your donation by check or money order. All donations are tax deductible in the USA.
Get more information on how you can provide one of the basic needs of life - - water - - by going to the page about Well Drilling. Your support of $10 or up to $100 or more will save the walk of 7 kilometers that the poor people walk now to get the water that they use to just live, let alone taking baths. What did you use water for today, so far? Is walking 7 kilometers (about 5 miles) by these poor people enough to help you decide to send some support?
