Joseph Burke and N Jean Burke
Director Joseph Burke, CEO, President
Being married since 1962, it is a milestone of their character because they believe in working through all problems, no matter how insurmountable they may seem to be at the time.
Joseph Burke began going to the Mentawai Islands to help with medical clinics, even though he was not a doctor, nurse, or a paramedic beginning in March 2000. He has been helping with medical clinics where up to 15% of the children die before they are 15 years old. He had a burden for helping children that lost their parents do to diseases but then the tsunami and 9.1 earthquake too place. His burden to help these children multiplied.
In March 2005 Joe returned to Indonesia 3.5 months after having 2 heart attacks in 6 days and having 3 stents put in the vessels around the heart. He had to do something to help the children of that catastrophic tsunami that hit the west end of Sumatra. He went to the island of Nias for 10 days. After leaving Nias he spent two days in Medan where he took 2 very ill people (1-30 yr old lady and 1-8 month old boy) to the Catholic hospital. While he was there and having refreshments at a street-side restaurant, small children came up to him, a number of them. Joe asked the interpreter who these children were. Were they sent by parents to help raise money for food? "Most of them are children without parents. They are either orphans or they are throw away kids that parents do not have the money to support them," was the answer.
When Joe returned to the USA he did an internet search for "Indonesian Street Kids" and that give Joe the push he needed to start working on getting the corporation to recognized as a charity. The award letter was signed on December 15, 2006.
Joe and his wife, Jean, have been working with children for over 30 years and would love to have you join them in continuing to help even more children. A child's smile is priceless, and when you support a child, you bring a forever smile within the heart of that child.

Timothy D. Burke
Timothy Burke, Cathy, Janalee, Noah and Summer, their dog.
Tim has been in church work since leaving home and later getting married. Tim has worked through different management positions after obtaining his degree. Having two energetic children has given him a lot of "on the job" training.
The family moved to North Carolina in 2008 a few miles north of Greensboro. He now is working with the youth group in his church which is keeping both of them on their toes for the needs that teenagers require.
Tim has wanted to join with C4KII for a few years and has finally added a great asset to help in the decision making for our projects.
Tim is our new Vice-President overseeing the projects that we are working on as a charity.

Angela Tobing
Director Angela Tobing is the Director contact in Indonesia
Angela Tobing is the CEO and President of Cikal Hope for Children. Angela Tobing responded to the request to help in obtaining a home for orphans and street children. Angela did not think very long and within a couple of weeks had responded to Joseph Burke that she would help him in reaching out to children that have no hope of a childhood or a respectable adult life.
After sharing this with her father, her father gave permission to use the property behind his house to begin a home for children.
You can also join Angela and reach out to children and provide a safe shelter, provide food, make sure they receive a good education, and will have great medical care up to when they turn 18 years of age, or even into a college or secondary school.
When in Stabat in February 2006, Joe was invited by Angela Tobing to go to the school that she taught at. She taught in the Kindergarten room with 13 children and one assistant helping.
As of summer of 2011 she has taken care of 7 children because of your support. For those who would like to begin supporting children, ask us how you can be involved with this on our contact page.
