About Us
Who are we?
Compassion 4 Kids International, Inc. (C4KII) is a 501 (C) 3 charity. Anyone donating more than $200 at one time or over $200 annually will receive a statement of support from us. C4KII was founded by Joseph Burke after going on Nine medical mission trips off the coast of Indonesia on the Mentawai Islands (about 100 miles to the South.) and Nias Island. He saw that too many adults died early in life leaving children behind.
The first home was started in Stabat, Sumatra, Indonesia and it became an Indonesian Foundation when Angela Tobing filed the proper documents. C4KII is only affiliated with Cikal Hope for Children by way of agreement to follow our Standards of Care. In Indonesian Cikal (Chee-cal) means the beginning of. For when a child is taken off the streets, the child is given hope within themselves from when they became a street child, to love and be loved by someone again.
In 2011 we began the India Project to build a 2nd floor to the host's home to take in children from India. The Maranatha Foundation began in October 2010 to start the path their government requires them to become a registered recognized charity. It is a lengthy process of 4 years. So we are continuing the building project for C4KII to have a "Visitor's Room" to stay and have an office there. So our charity is growing and with your help will continue to reach out to more and more children.
