We hope to convey the beginning of Cikal Hope for Children in a picture sequence as to what it was when we leased the property to the most recent ones which include part of the remodel of the house. These next pictures are of the Cikal House when Joe visited in February 2007. As you see they give the basic livable needs that allow us to take in children and your project support will help us expand this to well built complex for many children.
On the right is the porch and front entry door to the house. On the porch is Angela in orange, a couple of friends and Angela's mother, Hannah, or the right. The picture on the left is also of the front showing the side of it also. At the corner, (outside) is a make-shift wall that is the original toilet area having no roof. In front of the house, to the left of the porch is the top of the septic tank, as per normal in Indonesia, there is no public sewer system or septic tank. We hope to change that with your project support.
To the left is bedroom #1 and on the left is bedroom #2. As you see the bottom of the wall is brick covered with stucco. The upper part is woven bamboo strips with card board on the inside to keep people from seeing into the room. The windows have wooden shutters to them with no glass.
We have many more pictures to add to this page so please revisit in the near future. |
