It only takes 100 people doing a minimum of 2 searches per day, for us to receive a donation of $730 for one year. That is enough to support up to 2 children for 12 months. Purpose & Mission Housing The typical street child lives either with a "Boss" that governs every thing the child does including controlling up to 90% of income earned or by themselves that will lead to death, usually. The street teenager spends most of the day, up to 12 hours, walking in between stopped cars to sell water, smokes, trinkets, soft drinks, toys, chips, and other items. Then they report back to the boss at the end of the day. Our c Food The "Boss" on the streets are supposed to provide something to eat which is mostly rice and very little vegetables, fruits, and meat. They may get something to eat twice a day. Homes will provide a healthy well balanced diet of all food groups to help them build a healthy body, not prone to disease. With a wonderful cook, they get all they want to eat at each meal and clean safe water to drink. Normally all water is needed to boiled 20 to 30 minutes and then cooled to drink. At the homes we not only boil the water but we put it through a water purifier. When support comes in to provide a more efficient way to purify water, we will put them in. Medical The "Boss" does not have a medical plan and when on their own, no medical help at all. Up to 15% of children (before they are 15) die because of bad water that has not been boiled long enough or from food poisoning because of decomposition of the food because of no refrigeration. When medical needs are more than the normal typical childhood medical needs, we take them to the medical clinic just down the street. The medicine cabinet has most of their every day needs, thanks to your support and without your support, we cannot reach out to more children. Education The "Boss" provides no educational benefits as it costs money to send a child to school. With your support we are able to send the children to the local school. The cost of school for a middle school child is $5 per week for the bus and $6 per month for the school fee. On top of that we have to provide the 3 school uniforms and all their books, pencils, workbooks, and other school items. So you can understand why we need your help financially. Support In 2009 we have estimated the costs for Indonesia to be at least $50 per month per child for basic childhood needs, including clothing for school and home. If you can only afford $25 per month, that will help and if you can afford more, your help will go even farther. Your one time gift of any amount also appreciated.
